How to import games into EMUspace

Start with your own compatible PS1 or PSP game file in the iPhone Files app. EMUspace can import supported files directly and from supported ZIP, 7z and TAR archives.

1. Check the file before importing

Locate the file in Files and confirm that it has finished downloading. A cloud placeholder is not the same as a complete local file. Check that your iPhone has enough free space for the source file and any files unpacked during import.

Keep an original copy in a separate location. Do not rename a file extension to make it appear compatible: renaming does not change the data inside. If the game includes companion files, preserve the original set.

2. Send the file to EMUspace

From Files, use the supported Open With → EMUspace action. The exact presentation can vary with your iOS version. EMUspace also includes a How to import guide; use it when you need instructions matched to your installed app version.

Choose one game first and wait for the import to finish. Once a library card appears, open it and check that the game starts. This small first test makes it easier to identify a file problem before importing a larger collection.

3. Understand what an archive contains

ZIP, 7z and TAR are archive formats, not console game formats. Support for an archive does not mean that every file inside it can run. An archive may contain documentation, an incomplete game, or a file for a different system.

If an archive fails, check that the download completed and that it contains the intended game. Keep the source archive while you investigate. Avoid repeatedly importing a damaged file; obtain a complete copy from your own authorized source first.

Get help without losing your files

Before removing any data, keep your original game files and any progress you need. Email support@emuspace.app with the app version, iPhone model, file extension and exact error. There is no need to send a game file with the initial report.
