Size Matters vs Secret Agent Clank: Which PSP Game?
Choose Size Matters for a Ratchet-led adventure with weapons and armor customization. Choose Secret Agent Clank for Clank’s spy-themed starring role and a broader mix of activities. The second title is not simply Size Matters with a different cover.
Both belong in a PSP conversation, but they offer different reasons to play. Our PSP platformer selection provides alternatives if neither style matches what you want.

The differences that matter
| Game | Primary appeal | First-session focus |
|---|---|---|
| Ratchet & Clank: Size Matters | Weapons, armor and platform adventure | Learn movement and a small useful weapon set |
| Secret Agent Clank | Spy-themed Clank adventure with varied activities | Read each activity’s instructions before assuming familiar controls |
If you want continuity of feel more than novelty, Size Matters is the straightforward recommendation. If the idea of Clank taking the lead is the main attraction, choose Secret Agent Clank without expecting every section to play like a conventional Ratchet encounter.
Start Size Matters with a manageable toolkit
The official PlayStation description highlights weapons, customizable armor and shrinking into new spaces. Those systems give you several things to explore, but you do not need to optimize them all during the opening.
Learn a small set of reliable actions first. When a new weapon becomes available, test what problem it solves: an awkward range, a group of enemies or a movement pattern you find difficult to handle. Compare it in a familiar situation before replacing your whole approach.
Treat armor decisions similarly. Read the information the game gives you and make a change for a reason. A guide written for a different Ratchet game may refer to equipment or upgrade rules that do not belong to Size Matters.
Let Secret Agent Clank change the pace
Producer Frank Simon’s original announcement described Clank’s combat moves, gadgets, rhythm sections and sequences involving Qwark. That variety is a central reason to choose the game, rather than a small distraction from an otherwise identical campaign.
At a new activity, slow down long enough to understand its objective and prompts. A control habit learned in one section may not be the whole answer in the next. If an attempt fails, ask whether you understood the rule before deciding your timing was poor.
For shorter sessions, stop at a clear transition and note the next objective. Returning to a changed activity is easier when you remember what the game was asking you to do, not only the last location you saw.
Check the edition before borrowing advice
Both titles have appeared in more than one release context. This guide concerns PSP originals. A modern PlayStation reissue’s rewind, filters or quick-save feature is not automatically a built-in option in the original game.
Import your own supported PSP file and confirm the exact title. If the format is unclear, use our ISO, CSO and archive explanation. If the game loads correctly but a button behaves unexpectedly, check input mapping separately from file preparation.
Keep a normal progress save and clearly identify any practice state. Our save-method comparison explains why loading an older checkpoint does not preserve a later purchase or completed section automatically.
Questions answered
Is Secret Agent Clank a replacement for Size Matters?
No. It has its own protagonist focus and activity mix. Choose it for that experience, not as an assumed upgraded edition.
Which should I try if I liked Daxter?
If you mainly liked platform adventure, start by comparing Size Matters. If changing activities kept you engaged, the spy-game variety of Secret Agent Clank may be the stronger reason to choose it.
